SupportCast a Spell: Your Power Grows
It helps to mention your device (for example "iPad, iPadOS 18") and what happened.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get to the Parents area?
Tap Parents at the top right of the start screen. The first time, answer the grown-up question and create a 4-digit PIN. After that, the PIN opens the Parents area, where you can see each child's progress and change the settings.
I forgot the parent PIN.
Tap Parents, then Forgot your PIN? below the number pad. After two grown-up questions you can create a new PIN. All heroes and their progress stay as they are.
Which grade should I choose?
Choose your child's current grade. It is only the starting point: the game adjusts every subject to your child as they play. You can change the grade any time in the Parents area.
How do I choose how much math, reading, writing and geography?
In the Parents area, open your child's card and move the topic sliders. With "Balance topics automatically" on, subjects your child is behind in come up a bit more often, so all levels grow evenly. Set a topic to 0 % to leave it out.
My child can't read yet. Can they play?
Yes. For children in Pre-K and kindergarten, instructions are spoken, and the puzzles use pictures, sounds and numbers. As reading improves, the game gradually expects more reading.
How do we play together on two devices?
- Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi.
- On each device, open the Parents area, turn on Play together and type the same family word.
- Allow "local network" access when iOS asks.
Heroes in the same land can then see each other, wave, send presents and help in battles. Nothing goes over the internet.
Can my children play their hero on any of our iPads?
Yes. With "Play together" on and the same family word, the other family device appears in the Parents area under Family devices. Tap Share heroes, and do the same on the other device. From then on, whenever both are on the same Wi-Fi, every hero is kept up to date on both, so a child can go on playing on whichever device is free.
Nothing gets lost: if the same hero was played on both devices while they were apart, everything won on either device is kept (gems, items, pets, lands and learning progress).
A friend is visiting. Can they play with us?
- On one of your devices: Parents → Invite a guest. A 4-digit code appears.
- On the friend's device: Parents → type the code → Join as guest.
Guests play together with your family, but they never get your children's heroes, and you don't need to share your family word. Both devices remember each other, so next time it connects by itself. You can remove a guest any time in the Parents area.
How do I move progress to another device?
The easiest way is to share heroes between family devices (see above). Without the same Wi-Fi: in the Parents area, tap Save a backup. The file appears in the Files app under On My iPhone/iPad → Cast a Spell. Send it to the other device (for example with AirDrop), then tap Load a backup there and choose the file. Loading a backup adds its heroes and merges them with the ones already there; nothing is replaced or lost.
Is my child's progress backed up?
Progress is saved on the device and included in your normal iCloud or computer backup. Deleting the app deletes the progress, so make a backup first (see above) if you want to keep it.
I deleted a hero by mistake.
Deleted heroes stay in the Parents area under Recently deleted for 30 days. Tap Bring back, and the hero returns with all its progress, also on your other family devices.
There is no sound.
Check the speaker button at the top right of the game, and the device volume. The game plays sound even when the silent switch is on.
Does the app collect any data or show ads?
No. There are no ads, no accounts and no in-app purchases, and no data is collected. Everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 15 or later. On iPhone, the game is played in landscape (sideways).
